The Heart of Friendship

My dear cousin inspired me to write this piece. She hosts a podcast called “The Friendship Tour”. It is all about friendships among women. Making them, keeping them, and nourishing them.
— Poet Simone

At the heart of friendship is a woman who turns you toward God

A woman who prays for you without you even asking and expects nothing in return

Is a woman you pray for because you want the best for her and love her like a sister

That agape love

Intentional and sacrificial

At the heart of a true friendship

Of a sisterhood lie’s unyielding trust

Not gossip or jealousy

We build each other up

So we can lean on each other in times of need

But we also laugh and “kiki” and have a good ole time at the drop of a dime

At the heart of friendship, God must be the rock, the foundation

That way, whatever trials blow our way, we will always withstand the test of time and remain friends until our paths are no longer meant to cross

Check out The Friendship Tour podcast below:

The Friendship Tour is a podcast about female friendships— and the heart of friendship itself. Hosted by Cecelia Curtis, each episode explores how women make friends, keep friends, and become better friends— with faith-based insight, real-life stories, and honest encouragement for every stage of adult friendship.
