Pause;

In life, there are ebbs and flows. Sometimes we deal with circumstances outside of our control that weigh extra heavy. Seven months ago I felt like I was drowning. I was beyond overwhelmed by my circumstances and day to day life. Sometimes self care means a pause, and that is okay.
— Poet Simone

I pause for safety

I pause for grace

“I hope you stay”

I pause to take time

For God to show me the way

I pause because the pain is too much

Because it’s chaotic inside

And I do not want to get worse

I pause because it’s time to put myself first

I pause because I still belong on this earth

My story is not over

And neither is yours

It’s just a new chapter

A kind of rebirth;

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

As in years before, I’m spotlighting an organization that is dear to my heart, To Write Love on Her Arms.
